SCHOOL OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
In 2001 the School of Computer Science (SCS) was set up to provide opportunities for those who were not computer literate and unable to effort the exorbitant fees levied by private institutions. This program was made possible when YB Dato’ Sivaparanjothi Veluppillai made his initial donation towards the construction of the 2 rooms as a computer laboratory located within the new building complex. Later he donated a further sum to set up the network system.

The computer classes begun to be immensely popular and this prompted the Technical Committee of SCS to seek assistance from Microsoft Unlimited Potential Programme for financial and technical aid. In 2005, Microsoft (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd under its Microsoft Unlimited Potential Programme responded positively by donating free software, licensing and technical modules to SCS.

In 2003 a full time teacher, the late Master Sri Shanmugam was engaged to conduct the computer classes. As SCS became popular. The computer classes begun to be immensely popular and this prompted the Technical Committee of SCS to seek assistance from Microsoft Unlimited Potential Programme for financial and technical aid.

Strive For Progress Not Perfection
In 2005, Microsoft (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd under its Microsoft Unlimited Potential Programme responded positively by donating free software, licensing and technical modules to SCS.The new Microsoft courses consisted of Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Email. All these were incorporated into a single module for duration of 3 months. The total fee is RM100.00 and is heavily subsidised by the Divine Life Society (DLS). At present the entire fee is only RM150.00. However, poor and needy students are given free scholarship by DLS to complete the computer studies.

I don't fear Computer.
I fear the lack of them.
In view of the popularity of SCS, on 24.4.2012 the Ministry of Human Resources, gave a grant to SCS to upgrade the computer systems and to expand the premises. On 23.4.2013, the former Honourable Minister of Health, Malaysia, Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam officially inaugurated the newly expanded SCS premises and the upgraded facilities. This inauguration ceremony was well attended by the members of the community including Ms Mandeep Kaur, representative from Microsoft (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd​

The rapid and unceasing advances in IT and has taken the initiatives in exploring and introducing new strategies and methods of learning to meet the changing needs of the environment and the learners. Accordingly, on 15.2.2018 the Technical Committee met Ms Jasmine Begum and Ms Nabila Hussain of Microsoft (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to grant SCS the following volume licensing software and accord free membership to access the sites for the benefit of the students:-

MASTER SRI KRISHNA KUMAR
Instructor
Master Sri Krishna Kumar have been appointed as the computer school instructor from August 2018. He is also a capable teacher and on his own accord he has initiated a marketing programme through watsapp and facebook. The response from the public is rather encouraging and classes are now being attended by students from the public, from all parts of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

On 19.9.2018, Y.B Prabakaran, member of Parliament for Batu visited SCS, also met with Dato’ V Sivaparanjothi and the Committee of SCS to discuss about various programs to encourage and sponsor needy students around his constituency to attend the computer studies at SCS.

The members of DLS and SCS where thankfull to Datuk Seri Dr. Jeyaindran Tan Sri Sinnadurai, for initiating the donation of RM52,000.00 through MyNadi Foundation and Trustee Dato V. Sivaparanjothi for commencing and supporting the computer program for the benefit of the poor and needy students.
